Signature Homes - New Home Builder in the Bay Area

The pressure is on. Summer is here and it’s time to plan your warm weather activities! When brainstorming spots, try a destination where you can spend quality time together. Signature Homes has rounded up a few spots to add to your summer to-do list this season:

Cross the Bay. Plan a visit to the newly transformed San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), with nearly 45,000 square feet of art-filled public spaces. Open daily 10am-5pm, Thursdays until 9pm. Kids under 18 are free. While exploring in the city, add this list of attractions to your agenda.

Take a Hike! Head up to Mount Diablo State Park for a hike. On a clear day visitors can see dozens of California’s counties from the summit. Gates open 8:00am and close at sunset. Another excellent spot is Yosemite National Park, providing stunning granite cliffs, Giant Sequoia groves, and waterfalls. Hike among the 800 miles of trails, or drive along scenic routes to experience the beautiful landscapes and glimpse wildlife.

Old Town itself is a fun place to explore in Sacramento. The city streets are designed to look like the historic days of California and they are full of shops, food spots and museum. While in the Sacramento area, attend a Suspects Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre on The Delta King Hotel, visit the animals at the Sacramento Zoo, delight in the whimsical wonderland, Fairytale Town, and indulge in all your favorites at the California State Fair.

Take a driving tour of Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, Big Sur, Palo Alto, and the Salinas Valley. Great family stops are: Monterey Bay Aquarium, Big Basin Redwoods State Park, San Jose’s Children’s Discovery Museum, the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, and the gravitational anomaly the Mystery Spot. Stay awhile and hit the Santa Clara Valley Wine Trail and discover award-winning wines, beautiful scenery, and a warm, casual atmosphere. For the kids: head to the Garlic Festival, and Gilroy Gardens for Lumination 2016.

With a little planning, the whole family can enjoy a vacation in wine country. Beyond the wineries, Sonoma County offers family-friendly, exciting activities. Here are just a few of these kid-approved experiences including: Sonoma Serengeti and relaxing along the Russian River.

If you still need ideas for your summer, explore this great list of Northen California Day Trips, all can be taken in one day, with a starting point of San Francisco or Sacramento.
